  • After another company didn't show as agreed, I contacted Superior.

After another company didn’t show as agreed, I contacted Superior. They were very responsive. They came out and gave me a quote that was very fair. Gave me a timeline of when the job would be completed and completed the job within that timeline. Great service and product.

First off let me say that I rarely review anything. A service or product has to really go above and beyond for me to take the time to post a review. That being said, I highly recommend Superior. They get an A++ in our book! From initial contact to consultation to installation Superior provided outstanding quality service. We are very happy with the quality of the product and the installation.

  • Fence installation was amazing. Especially at the back corner of my house where we had a big drop off.

These guys are superb! Ian was very informative about the materials they used relative to the competition and the fence installation was amazing. Especially at the back corner of my house where we had a big drop off. They truly did an awesome job. Thanks Superior!

  • I was home when the team came out to build and they are meticulous.

Dylan and his entire team were amazing. Dylan came out on a holiday to give a quote and was very flexible to accommodate my husband and me on a start date. I was home when the team came out to build and they are meticulous. They don’t just put up a fence-they take their time and make sure it’s a quality fence that will last and look beautiful. Would 10/10 recommend Dylan and his team to anyone I know.

  • I received many (at least 10) quotes for having a 6ft. privacy fence built

I have only amazing things to say about Superior Fence & Rail of Treasure Valley. I received many (at least 10) quotes for having a 6ft. privacy fence built and my wrought iron fence removed. Superior Fence and Rail will probably not be the cheapest quote you will get, but they will be competitive, and more importantly they will absolutely exceed your expectations and will not stop until you are satisfied. Every penny is worth it. The quality of the materials and their work are, without a doubt, above and beyond. Thank you for a job amazingly done!

Frequently Asked Questions

Kansas City, Missouri has a dedicated Fences and Walls Ordinance (Chapter 27) that governs minimum requirements for building fences within city limits. A separate Chapter 28 covers flood zone construction, highly relevant given that significant portions of the Kansas City metro fall within Missouri River and Blue River flood zones. Kansas City, Kansas, across the state line, has its own entirely separate permit process. Your specific address determines which jurisdiction applies. Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas play by different rules, and we work in both. Your local Superior Fence & Rail team will confirm your jurisdiction and handle the permit process.

Kansas City sits at one of the most significant river confluences in the United States, where the Missouri River meets the Kansas River, and the flooding history here shapes how development near water is regulated. Properties near the Missouri River, Blue River, Brush Creek, and their tributaries may be in designated flood zones where fence installation requires additional permits. The 1977 Brush Creek flood that killed 25 people near the Country Club Plaza is a reminder of how quickly Kansas City's creek systems can flood. Checking your property's flood zone status before planning any fence near these waterways is an essential first step.

Kansas City, Missouri and Kansas City, Kansas are entirely separate municipalities with different ordinances, permit processes, and enforcement agencies. What's allowed in Missouri may differ from Kansas requirements even for properties just blocks apart. The bi-state metropolitan area also includes Johnson County, Kansas, where individual cities like Overland Park and Leawood each have their own fence regulations that may be stricter than either Kansas City proper. If you're not sure which jurisdiction your property falls in, your local Superior Fence & Rail team can help you confirm before the project starts.

Johnson County, Kansas, encompassing Overland Park, Leawood, Lenexa, and Olathe, is heavily HOA-governed, and fence rules in these communities often specify natural cedar wood with specific staining requirements, approved colors and heights, and restrictions on chain link in visible areas. Some HOAs don't just exclude certain fence types; they actually require specific styles. Getting written HOA or architectural review committee approval before applying for any city permit is essential, and HOA approval in Johnson County communities can take several weeks. Your local Superior Fence & Rail team works with HOAs throughout the KC metro and can help you prepare whatever documentation is needed.

Kansas City's Midwest location brings hot, humid summers, significant spring severe weather including tornado risk, and winter ice storms that are among the most fence-damaging weather events in the region. Open-design aluminum or chain link fencing allows tornado-force winds to pass through rather than creating a solid barrier that can be destroyed. For wood privacy fencing, which is very popular across the KC metro, steel posts in concrete provide better wind resistance than wood posts alone. Cedar is the preferred wood for its natural moisture resistance in Kansas City's humid conditions. Our team builds with Kansas City's severe weather history in mind on every project.

Kansas City Fence Company

Trusted customer care, experienced professionals, and proven-quality materials

Most people shopping for a fence company in Kansas City start with price. That makes sense. But the calls we get most often aren’t from people who paid too much. They’re from people who paid too little, got a crew that disappeared mid-job, or ended up with posts that shifted after the first hard freeze. That pattern is something we’ve spent years working against.

Homeowners, property managers, and HOAs across this area call us because the experience matters as much as the fence itself. You get real materials, real answers, and a crew that doesn’t treat your yard like a pit stop.

Fence Company Near Me in Kansas City

From Strawberry Hill down through Argentine and into Quindaro, we’ve installed fencing on the kind of older residential lots that come with uneven grades, tight setbacks, and a lot of history baked into the property lines. Out west toward Piper and Nearman Hills, the lots are bigger and the HOA paperwork tends to be thicker. We also work regularly in Victory Hills, Kensington, and the Village West corridor, and we serve surrounding communities including Bonner Springs, Edwardsville, and Lenexa. If you’re somewhere in or around Wyandotte County, there’s a good chance we’ve fenced a yard on your street or the next one over.

Kansas City Fence Contractor

A yard that looks flat from the back porch might drop two feet toward the fence line once you start measuring. It happens more than people think, especially on blufftop lots in Strawberry Hill where the grade can shift enough to change the entire installation approach. As a fence contractor in Kansas City, that kind of variability isn’t a problem we escalate. It’s just Tuesday.

HOA approvals are another area where experience pays off. Subdivisions near Piper and out toward the Legends area tend to have detailed architectural guidelines, and submitting an incomplete application is one of the fastest ways to delay a project by weeks. We know what those review committees want to see.

Kansas City Fence Builder

Nobody should be surprised by what their fence costs or how long it takes. We come out, walk the property, and look at the things that actually drive those numbers: how the grade runs, where utilities sit, which side of the house loses fence panels to wind first. That’s what the site visit is for. From there you get a written estimate built around your lot, not a template we fill in later. Material selection and scheduling both happen before anything gets ordered, so you’re not approving a plan that’s already been set in motion. We keep common fence materials in stock, which means most projects around Kansas City can get moving without a multi-week wait on supply.

Kansas City Fence Installation

Before anything goes in the ground, we handle the permitting, check the survey for property lines, and confirm our plan won’t disrupt utility lines, making adjustments where it needs to. Skipping these steps is how jobs turn into disputes, so we don’t. The fence installation itself is designed to move efficiently without cutting corners on prep, which means post depth gets measured, not eyeballed, and the crew has everything staged before they start digging.

When the job wraps, you walk the fence line with us. That’s not a courtesy. It’s how we catch small things before they become your problem to chase down later.

Kansas City Fence Financing

Fencing costs more than most people expect until they’ve actually gotten a quote, and the right fence for your property isn’t always the one that fits neatly into a one-time payment. Our fence financing options let you spread the cost over time so the budget decision doesn’t push you toward a material or layout that won’t serve you well long-term.

Kansas City Fencing Options

Cedar is popular in the older parts of Kansas City for good reason. It looks right on a classic residential lot, it’s workable, and it ages in a way that a lot of homeowners actually like. The catch is moisture. Kansas City summers are humid, and cedar that doesn’t get resealed on schedule can start cupping or splitting faster than people expect. Trex composite sidesteps most of that. It handles the freeze-thaw cycle better, it doesn’t absorb moisture the same way, and it looks consistent years out without a lot of upkeep.

Vinyl is the material we install most often in HOA communities because it photographs well for architectural review and stays looking uniform across a whole streetscape. Aluminum is the standard call for pool enclosures since it satisfies most barrier fence requirements and doesn’t corrode. For commercial properties, larger acreage, or anywhere a dog run needs to go, chain link is still the practical choice. Browse all available fence styles to see what makes sense for your situation.

Superior Fence & Rail Wants to Be Your Kansas City Fence Installation Contractor

Kansas City yards aren’t all the same. Tight urban lots in Argentine look nothing like a half-acre in Piper, and what works for one can be completely wrong for the other. Our crews know this area well enough to ask the right questions before recommending anything. If you’re at the point where you want a real number and an honest timeline, contact our Kansas City team to set up your free on-site estimate.

Irrigation Considerations

Sprinkler system consists of a series of PVC tubes that run underground. PVC is a good material because it’s lightweight and easy to install, but it’s also difficult to locate and prone to damage.  This happens frequently during fence installation because sprinkler lines usually run along the same property line where you want your fence installed.  Unless your fence is installed before your sprinklers – accidental breaks in the pvc lines are unavoidable.  The best thing you can do is be prepared, and have an irrigation repair company on hand.
