Frequently Asked Questions

Yes we are. We have been a member since we began business and use special arbitration procedures laid out by the BBB to resolve disputes. More importantly, we have no complaints on our record, not a small feat considering we sell and install thousands of jobs each year.

When installing fence posts, a common question arises: is concrete necessary? The answer is that there are three primary methods for setting posts, and the need for concrete depends on various factors. Posts can be set using dry concrete, which cures over time with moisture from the soil or with wet concrete, which cures faster with water. Alternatively, posts can be driven directly into compacted soil. The choice of technique frequently varies by region, influenced by local building codes, municipal requirements, and the specific composition of the soil. Each technique results in a fence that is structurally sound and backed by the Superior Fence & Rail workmanship warranty – the best in the industry!

Absolutely. We have a 2,000,000.00 general liability policy, a 1,000,000.00 commercial automobile policy and a 1,000,000.00 worker’s compensation policy. If the company you are considering hiring does not carry workers compensation, liability or commercial automobile insurance, you may want to rethink your decision to use them because you could end up being liable in the event that something happens on your property.

Yes we do. Our materials come with lengthy product warranties from the manufacturer and our company offers a three year workmanship warranty on our installation for most of our products. Our aluminum fencing and our vinyl fence comes with a transferable lifetime warranty. This means that not only is the warranty good for the original purchaser, but it can also be transferred to the subsequent purchaser of your home. To transfer the vinyl fence warranty, a registration card must be filled out by the transferee. Also, it is important to note that our vinyl fence is one of the few in the entire industry that carries a warranty that is not just backed by the parent company but is actually underwritten by a firm that guarantees the performance of the warranty (similar to the way a re-insurance companies guarantees the performance of other insurance companies).

Our company is a vinyl fence fabricator that has the ability to fabricate over 120 different styles of vinyl fences, gazebos and associated garden products. The most common styles of vinyl fence we sell are tongue and groove privacy, privacy with lattice accent, semi-privacy, picket and pool code fence. Call our office today and let us help you pick the vinyl fence that’s right for you!

  • The installation team for Superior Fence and Rail was fantastic.

“The installation team for Superior Fence and Rail was fantastic. I have a landscaped yard and they worked with me to protect the plants along the fence line. They also consulted me whenever they had to make big decisions (like working around an irrigation pipe) so we could come up with a solution that worked for the installation crew as well as for me, the homeowner.”

  • It was a professional and efficient fence installation.

“It was a professional and efficient fence installation. I was told what was going to happen when and checked with whenever a decision was needed. The fence was just what we hoped for and replaced a previously poorly installed fence. The difference made it obvious how well the installation went.”

  • The fence buying process is not an easy one and for someone who is a little OCD and Type A, its definitely not easy.

“The fence buying process is not an easy one and for someone who is a little OCD and Type A, its definitely not easy. While I would prefer to give a three-star review here, I'm choosing four and here's why. We worked with Warren in the sales process. He came to our property and we had a great conversation about the potential project and received a quote within 24 hours. The price came in as the lowest of five quotes by about $1K. I liked how Warren described the process of the project and since we were dealing with a time crunch for an upcoming event on our property, he did his best to schedule us with enough of a window to have the project done in time and still give us a moment to make sure clean up and repairs were done. After presenting this quote to our neighbors, changes needed to be applied. Unfortunately, this is where the three-stars comes into play. Communication with Warren was difficult after the initial quote was sent over. Days would go between communications and with as frustrating as that was, I knew that the price-point was where we needed it to be...so we stuck it out. For example, after the initial quote was reviewed, we needed to add more work to the quote. This was requested on a Thursday with no response until the following Tuesday after two follow ups. This happened twice in the process and the second time I had to piggyback off a communication from their office staff to get Warren to respond - this was after we had signed the quote and were a "client". To say this was frustrating is an understatement. This was a multi-thousand dollar project, involving multiple neighbors who had questions I could not answer. More on this later... Now to where the four stars comes into play. Once the project started, I was introduced to Bryce, our project manager. Bryce brought a level of confidence to the project that I as a customer needed. He also brought two dedicated workers that busted their butts in 90+ degree weather. Bryce walked me through the project, expectations, and clarified specific aspects of the project so that his guys could be prepared. They started demo right away and made sure to be careful around our younger shrubs along our property line. After a day of demo with a lot of concrete removal, construction began and went a lot faster than I expected. Unfortunately, this is where we found Warren's lack of communication again. And let me be clear here, I'm not trying to drive a bus over him. My point is for future customers to know what can happen if you don't stay on top of project comms. During our initial walkthrough before the quote, I made it very clear that we live in a wind-heavy area of Jefferson County with strong west winds and that the fence needed spacers in between pickets to allow flow. Apparently this was not communicated to Bryce and therefore not communicated to his crew. Since I was not paying attention to the work details of the early morning, I missed this and the whole west side was constructed without spacers. Not the end of the world, but not what was discussed during the sales process. After this was brought up to Bryce, he acknowledged it wasn't communicated to him and we moved on. The rest of the project went well, despite a few construction hiccups that tend to always happen. We worked around them as best as could despite language barriers with the crew. After the construction was finished, there were a few spots that needed to be fixed - poor quality lumber, missed cuts, uneven picket placement. Nothing too crazy at all. Bryce scheduled the repair team to come out in time for our event. As soon as the repair team arrived, they left due to an emergency and lo and behold, here comes Bryce. For the next few hours, on a Friday afternoon, Bryce worked on a section of the fence that needed help. His attention to detail, humor, and work ethic is what I really took away from this project. Not to take away from the work his crew did, but his leadership on the project alone gives this four stars...five stars is hard to come by.”

  • We were happy with many aspects of this project.

“We were happy with many aspects of this project. What went well: The contracting process, the price (compared very favorably to a competitor), the timeliness and quality of the work, including cleanup when the job was over, and the friendliness of the work crew. Superior also handled a contract amendment issue that came up during the work well. What didn't go so well: Communications. We had to do the contract amendment because the wood posts as delivered did not look like the posts in the proposal, in that the photos did not show that you would be able to see the metal core of the posts from the outside. There was also some confusion about when workers doing the concluding work would arrive. One crew leader did not speak English. One crew installed a combination lock on one handle but left without giving us the code. A return visit was needed.”

    Jerry T.

Irrigation Considerations

Irrigation Considerations

October 24, 2017

Sprinkler system consists of a series of PVC tubes that run underground. PVC is a good material because it’s lightweight and easy to install, but it’s also difficult to locate and prone to damage.  This happens frequently during fence installation because sprinkler lines usually run along the same property line where you want your fence installed.  Unless your fence is installed before your sprinklers – accidental breaks in the pvc lines are unavoidable.  The best thing you can do is be prepared, and have an irrigation repair company on hand.
